Ansel & Clair go American bowling (and learning) in new app

The Ansel & Clair series of educational apps from developer Cognitive Kid have been getting plenty of critical acclaim, with topics including dinosaurs, ecology and African wildlife.

The latest takes a different spin… bowling? Yep, bowling. Except this is bowling with an educational twist: 1,000 trivia questions about the United States, taking in history, legislation, sports stars and landmarks.

Kids have to answer a question correctly before bowling, earning power-ups for those answers before knocking down the pins. They can play at three difficulty levels to suit different ages and abilities.

The questions are split into 14 categories, with Important Events, Amazing Americans and Landmarks and Landforms among the ones you’d expect to see. There are also specific categories for Black History and She’s a Trailblazer (famous American women).

Ansel & Clair: American Bowl costs £0.69 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
