Despite our best efforts, nobody would ever describe either of the Apps Playground team as hipsters. But we’ve certainly met a few, which is why a new app called Hipster’s ABC brought a smile to our faces.
It’s a new iPhone and iPad app by developer Andrew Wayman, which was released on the App Store this week. Its goal: to teach children the alphabet with references that are a bit more… hip than your average ABC app.
“Since early childhood education is so important, hipster parents need to start cultivating their kids innate sense of cool as soon as possible,” explains the App Store listing. “Every baby needs to learn their ABC’s, but with colorful illustrations hipster babies can learn the ins and outs of what is cool as they learn their ABC’s.”
Examples? “B is for Ben the Bearded Bicycling Barista” or “D is for Dax’s Distinguished Dog who Digs Disc Golf”. And so on. It’s sure (well, possibly sure) to be a hit on the parental devices of Shoreditch, San Francisco and New York alike!
Hipster’s ABC costs £0.69 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store.
