We’ve written about Irish apps publisher StoryToys regularly: it makes apps for kids inspired by pop-up books, from fairytales to zoo animals. Now it’s starting to bundle them together.
In fact, the company launched two new ‘Collection’ apps this week, bundling together three of its previous apps in each case. The Grimm’s Collection focuses on fairytales, while The Valentine’s Princess Collection focuses on giant planet-eating monitor lizards.
Oh, alright: princesses.
Taking them in turn, The Grimm’s Collection bundles StoryToys’ apps for Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel together. Each tells the story through a mixture of text and pop-up interactive scenes. However, there are some extras too: a digital stickering book and a jigsaw puzzle pack.
The Valentine’s Princess Collection follows that template. Here, the three stories are Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty. Pop-up scenes, jigsaw puzzles and stickering scenes a-go-go.
The Valentine’s Princess Collection costs £2.99 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, and £3.99 for Android on the Google Play store. It’s just come out, so is currently 50% off.
That deal has ended for the other app, so The Grimm’s Collection costs £6.99 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, and £6.99 for Android. Both offer a good introduction to the apps of one of the most consistent children’s digital publishers.
