Comics legend Stan Lee joins Storypanda for Monsters vs Kittens app

Stan Lee is a hero to millions of people, thanks to his work in the comics world creating characters including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man and the X-Men.

Now he’s involved in children’s apps. Well, in a sense. The latest app from publisher Storypanda is the slightly-awkwardly titled iPad app Monsters vs. Kittens - A Stan Lee’s Kids Universe and Storypanda Collaboration.

Described as “a fully interactive storybook app about the differences and similarities of monsters and kittens”, it’s the work of illustrator Dani Jones and “the mind” of Stan Lee.

On one level, it’s par for the course: animation, interactivity and sound over the course of a digital story. We do like the option for kids to get creative though: they can make their own version of the story by changing its words, then share – with the help of an adult, obviously – on social networks.

Monsters vs. Kittens costs £0.69 for iPad on Apple’s App Store.
