Moose & Zebra app teaches kids all about dinosaurs

It’s fair to say neither moose (Mooses? Meese?) nor zebras would have lasted long around your average meat-eating dinosaurs. Thankfully, both are safe in the new Moose & Zebra app from developer DashForward Lab.

Moose & Zebra. Dinos – Magazine for Kids was released for iPad and Android tablets this week – the third in a series of entertaining educational apps starring the wildlife twosome.

This time round, they’re exploring the era of the dinosaurs for the benefit of your children, following outings to Africa and Sweden.

“Kids will travel to the Dinosaur era, meet with 14 different dinosaurs and learn what they ate, what their names mean, what their main peculiarities were and much more,” explains its app store listing. “Children will reconstruct skeletons, feed dinosaurs, walk through the forest full of hungry predators and have fun with Moose and Zebra.”

Besides reading about the dinosaurs and their world, children can practise counting, colouring, memory puzzles and logic skills as they move through the app, with hints to hand in case they struggle.

There are 15 activities in all, with voice narration and good production values adding up to an impressive app. Moose & Zebra. Dinos – Magazine for Kids costs £0.69 for iPad on Apple’s App Store, and £0.69 for Android from the Google Play store.
