Have your children tried Jelly Pie? If not, it’s well worth a look. Launched last year by book publisher Egmont, it’s a mixture of physical books, a website, a YouTube channel and mobile apps.
(Here’s a piece I wrote for The Guardian about it, for a bit more background.)
Anyway, there’s already one mobile app, Jelly & Pie - The Game, which came out last year. Now it’s been joined by a second: Jelly Pie - Bungee Pants.
Released this month for iPhone, iPad and Android, it stars the same cartoon duo of Jelly and Pie (yes, a wobbly jelly and an… unwobbly pie, if you’re wondering). The game sees Jelly bungeeing down a “bouncy gauntlet” to find Pie.
“Packed full of laughs, splats, wobbles and some very interesting bungee attire,” as the App Store listing puts it. Children are tasked with hitting golden cubes, bouncing on power-apps and avoiding conveyor belts along the way.
It’s colourful fun, and a bit easier than the previous game, which should open it up to a wider range of children.
Jelly Pie – Bungee Pants is a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store, and a free download for Android from the Google Play store.
