Tunes at the ready in Kids Music Factory app

Many parents are keen for their children to get the chance to develop musical skills, with apps as well as instruments helping. Kids Music Factory is the latest.

Released by developer GiggleUp, it features 20 familiar children’s songs, complete with 30 cartoon characters who’ll form a band for children’s experimental tootlings.

“Learn to play popular kids tunes in the traditional Keyboard Mode, or mix it up with fresh new sounds in the Character Mode,” explains its App Store listing. “Compose your own melodies and share it with family and friends. Perfect for beginners and with heaps of room for creativity.”

Keyboard Mode is the serious learning section, where children can be shown how to play the different tunes, while tracking their progress at learning them. Character Mode, meanwhile, involves playing havoc with the characters – each of which has its own animation and sound.

Kids Music Factory looks good for sharing within the family too, as kids record the tunes that they create to play for passing siblings, parents and extended family members.

Kids Music Factory costs £1.99 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
