Peepo and the Unfinished Story app needs completing

“What if a character in a story were to meet one of his readers?” asks the promotional video for Peepo and the Unfinished Story, the latest app from SlimCricket.

A good question, and one the app hopes to answer by putting your child into the story via clever use of the iPhone or iPad’s camera – something we’ve seen used before by the likes of Nosy Crow.

The story here focuses on Peepo, an elf who suddenly realises he’s a character in a story. The problem being that the story isn’t quite finished.

“Over the pages, Peepo meets several anomalies: some backgrounds are not finished, characters need help and are unable to play their role,” explains its App Store listing.

“Could he help them making their dream come true? Will he manage to fix this unfinished story? Will he reinvent the end and become a hero?”

This, of course, is where your children come in. The story is told over 25 interactive pages, with additional games, musical segments and the chance to rewrite the ending with Peepo.

We do like the illustration style of this app: the characters are, well, full of character. And the interactive elements are varied too: digital colouring, a Guitar Hero-style rhythm game and lots of playfulness are included.

Peepo and the Unfinished Story costs £2.49 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store, and £2.49 for Android from the Google Play store – it’s also available on Amazon and Samsung’s app stores if you have their devices.
