Justin Fletcher launches new Fun Time app for kids

A true story: when Apps Playground co-founder Alice and I took our children to the Camp Bestival music festival, by far the biggest crowd of the weekend was for CBeebies star Justin Fletcher.

(Imagine a field full of children on shoulders going bonkers to Happy And You Know It. Crazy scenes…)

Anyway, in between filming shows like Something Special, Gigglebiz and Justin’s House, Fletcher has released a series of apps under his own Justin’s World brand. The latest is out today: Justin’s World – Fun Time.

It’s a collection of six lightly-educational mini-games, all starring Justin’s familiar face (and, indeed, his singing voice in the case of Sing-a-long, which is described as a “video jukebox” of summery songs for kids).

Others include a memory-based Tray Game; Colouring Fun with 16 seaside scenes; Funny Faces, which gets children to copy Justin’s expressions by gurning into their device’s front camera; a pairs game called Pairs Playtime; and Justin’s Joke Box for a spot of comedy.

The previous Justin’s World apps have been well-crafted and easy to use, with plenty of interactivity, but also a nod to the production values of the TV shows that have made him so well loved by preschoolers in the UK and beyond.

Justin’s World – Fun Time costs £2.49 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
