Pumpy Bee app’s farty fun will have kids in stitches

As responsible parents, we regularly try to put our most serious faces on when our two sons are rolling around on the floor laughing at the idea of bottoms and farts. As irresponsible parents, we usually fail in that ambition.

Pumpy Bee is an app tailor-made for these situations. Released by developer Coffee With A Lid, it’s written and narrated by comedian Gavin Oattes, and tells the tale of a bee called Pumpy who flies by… well, he flies by farting.

“Pumpy is unique indeed. But being different is not always easy. Sometimes the other bees can be very cruel,” explains this iPad app’s App Store listing. “One day, on his way to school, something happens that changes everything…”

What you get is 26 pages of story, as well as a digital Draw with Pumpy Bee colouring section, and a “Parp Page” which is basically a soundboard for a gruesome gallery of noises. There’s not much interactivity in the story itself, but there’s enough bee-based trouser-coughing to keep most children chuckling.

(And quite a few adults, yes. Guilty as charged.)

Pumpy Bee costs £1.49 for iPad from Apple’s App Store. Here’s a taste of what you’re in store for:

Entertainment can come in many forms… as long as “the line” isn’t crossed. Giggling and full on laughter is healthy!
