Get Frozen songs on the go with Disney Music Video app

Yes, of course it has songs from Frozen. And yes, of course they include ‘Let It Go’. Did you think Disney would dare leave it out of their new music app for kids?

Disney Music Video came out this week as a free download for iPhone, courtesy of Disney’s Hollywood Records division. It promises “a family-friendly environment where kids and their parents can safely watch music videos from Disney Music Group”.

(Which, yes, could be taken as code for “an app that’s much safer to leave your Disney song-mad child with than YouTube, so you can go and make a cup of tea to take you through the next repeat of ‘Let It Go’.)

Now, the rather huge caveat: the app is actually sort-of broken for some videos, including that monster hit. “This video contains content from Vevo. It is restricted from playback on certain sites,” explains a message with a black screen.

You can tap a couple more times to load it up from YouTube, but it’s an awkward process to explain to a child. Ah well. They’ll get to their latest fix of ‘HEEEEEEERRREE I STAAAAANNDDDDD’ eventually.

Besides famous Disney films, there are categories for individual stars like Demi Lovato, Sabrina Carpenter and Lucy Hale. Parents may enjoy steering their children towards the Muppets category, mind…

Disney Music Video is a free download for iPhone from Apple’s App Store.
