Do your children love the characters and songs of Sesame Street? You may want to hightail it to the App Store to get their latest app then: Sesame Street Video Maker.
Described as a “make-your-own music video app”, it was released this week for iPhone and iPad as a way for parents and children to work together on their own mini musical masterpieces.
“Parents and kids will love recording themselves rocking out to their favorite Sesame Street music videos, and then adding on fun stickers and effects,” as the App Store listing puts it.
The app will even slap virtual costumes onto you as you perform. Three songs are included in the app, with another available as a free in-app download. There’s also a “Grown-Up” section where parents can buy more songs using in-app purchases.
As ever with Sesame Street, education is part of the mix: the company says the songs include topics like “healthy habits, counting and self confidence”. Sesame Street worked with design company Ideo on the app.
Sesame Street Video Maker costs £1.99 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
