Tate Kids Draw & Play goes live for iPhone and iPad

Earlier this year, we loved Noisy Neighbours, an app published by art museum the Tate. Now it has another app for children: Tate Kids Draw & Play.

We think this one looks good too. Would you believe, it’s about drawing and playing? Released for iPhone and iPad this week, it’s a free download since its aim is to promote other (paid) apps as well as books published by the Tate.

“Choose a canvas and start the fun. Add stickers to the scene or draw new characters and record noises for them. When you’re finished you can share your creation on Tate Kids My Gallery,” explains its App Store listing.

Those canvases may be familiar to art-loving parents – or even children if they’ve regularly visited the Tate and other galleries – since they’ve been designed by well-known illustrators.

Tate says the app is aimed at 4-8 year-olds, with lots of scope for creativity as kids get more experienced with its drawing tools. Tate Kids Draw & Play is a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
