Our eldest son is just about to enter the target age for Lego Bionicle – for now, he’s still in the Ninjago / Chima age group. Anyway, once he moves up, he may enjoy the new Lego Bionicle: Mask of Creation game.
Released for Android this month, it’s aimed at eight year-olds and upwards, bringing the six Bionicle heroes to an adventure to “recover the lost masks of power to stop the rising evil on the mythical island of Okoto”.
One nice element, it’s about building as well as battling: children collect Lego pieces – more than 100 – as they search for the masks, before flinging their heroes into action against an array of foes.
It looks good fun, anyway, with plenty of variety to the gameplay. And interestingly, it’s a completely free game, without even in-app purchases or ads. Well, it’s one big ad for Lego Bionicle toys, you could say, but at least that won’t come as a surprise.
Lego Bionicle: Mask of Creation is a free download for Android from the Google Play store and a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
