Have you ever bought one of those customised print books for your children? The kind where you can get their names featured in the story. We’ve done it – a book about dinosaurs for our son – and he was pretty chuffed.

Several app developers have explored doing a similar thing with their storybook-apps in recent times. Now Sesame Street is joining them with its new app What Makes You Giggle? It’s a partnership with Put Me In The Story, which focuses on personalised books like this.

“In What Makes You Giggle, your child comes along on a roaring ride of tummy tickles and giggles with Elmo and Abby as they delve into all kinds of fun things that make them laugh and smile,” explains its App Store listing.

“Simply add your child’s photo and name, then watch your child’s face light up as this story comes to life with animation and narration, with your child as the star.”

Expect to meet Cookie Monster, Oscar and other familiar Sesame Street characters over the course of the story. It looks good fun.
