We’ve heard about dog schools in the real world, to teach canine behaviour. We never realised they included piano lessons…
Okay, they probably don’t – although it’d be an AMAZING round at Cruft’s – but in new children’s app Lucy & Pogo, the piano is a crucial part of dogs’ education. Not to mention one cat.
Her name’s Lucy, and in this app, she’s at dog school too. “School is for dogs only? I’ll be a dog then,” she thinks, according to its App Store listing.
Cue 13 mini-games for children to help Lucy learn – while also learning themselves. Developed by the aptly-named Catzndogz Studio, this is aimed at pre-school children.
Expect counting, reading and music-making through that piano. But wrapped around it is a story about “how to overcome prejudices, learn tolerance, empathy and the eagerness to learn”.
The games are fun, but what we love most about Lucy & Pogo are its production values: its illustrations are lovely, and its music fits them perfectly.
Lucy & Pogo costs £2.29 for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
