Every so often, we like to publish some of our website stats, to show how Apps Playground is growing. We’re very excited about December 2012, so here’s another of those posts.

Last month, the site attracted 22,357 unique visitors, which is up 49.3% on November’s total. Most of this was healthy organic growth too: more people finding their way to the site’s old and new stories.

We had a nice spike when British MP Tom Watson kindly tweeted his recommendation of the site to his 109k followers just before Christmas, although that was then balanced out by a baffling plummet in our Google search engine ranking on 28 December – something we’re still a.) suffering from and b.) trying to get to the bottom of.

So heaven knows what January’s figures will show, if we don’t bounce back quickly from that. But to focus on the positive, more people are finding their way to Apps Playground, reading our articles and (hopefully) finding recommendations of apps that their children will love.

We’ve been running the site as a side project, but the growth – a year ago we were attracting around 2,000 monthly unique visitors – has really encouraged us to put more welly into Apps Playground in 2013.

More posts, more proper reviews, some fun stuff with videos, more devices covered (Android in particular) and other changes. So thanks for reading so far: we’re always keen to hear your views on how you’d like to see the site evolve, so post comments with your suggestions!
