Kids love making collages, but what if they could make them digitally, and make them move? That’s the idea behind Easy Studio – Animate with Shapes.

It’s an iPad app released by developer Les Trois Elles, whose Montessori Geometry app impressed us last year. The idea: “Kids will discover the magic of animation and they will be rewarded by their own creations”.

Specifically, this means creating objects on-screen using different shapes, then animating them. There are two difficulty levels: Easy and Expert, with the former suitable for younger children who need help with the patterns, and the latter better for older children who want more control over their creations.

It’s very cleverly done: an app that looks like it’ll grow in appeal as your children grow older. Les Trois Elles promise that the animations take up “virtually no memory space” on your iPad too, so you won’t be running out of room even if your kids go wild and want to save hundreds of animations.
