The first Angry Birds Star Wars game was fab, and we’re looking forward to its sequel. But did you know there’s also an official Angry Birds Star Wars book on the way?

It’ll be published by National Geographic Books in September this year and called National Geographic Angry Birds Star Wars: The Science Behind the Saga. Judging by the advance blurb, there’ll be plenty of educational content in it:

“National Geographic Angry Birds Star Wars: The Science Behind the Saga unites Angry Birds, Star Wars and National Geographic to take fans on a galactic mission to uncover the true stories, technology and unbelievable science behind the science fiction,” explains the blurb.

“Readers will learn how life imitates art by exploring the discovery of Kepler-16b, a real Tatooine-like planet; learning how a hovercraft works and how it resembles the landspeeder; and finding out how close we are to creating a real-life lightsaber.”

Chapters will correspond to the Star Wars films and individual levels in the two Angry Birds Star Wars games. The book goes on sale on 17 September, two days before Angry Birds Star Wars II is released for smartphones and tablets.
