We already know that the next Angry Birds game will be a kart-racing game called Angry Birds Go! but now your children can get more information on its characters and karts.
How? In an app. Countdown to Angry Birds Go! has been released for Android, iPhone and iPad, providing early info on the new game ahead of its release on 11 December.
“Meet the characters from the year’s biggest downhill racing game and earn points daily to get a reward for the upcoming Angry Birds Go!” explains its app store listing. “Plus, it’s a great way to try out your awesome new Angry Birds Go! Telepods figures before the big race begins.”
Telepods? Yes, the new game will come with its own range of physical toys, which can be scanned in to the mobile game just like the Telepods for the recent Angry Birds Star Wars II.
Besides profiles of the various birds and pigs in the game, the app includes a gameplay trailer – possibly the same one that we’ve embedded above. As we pointed out before, Angry Birds Go! isn’t just a children’s game, but it’s likely to appeal to a lot of kids as well as adults.
Countdown to Angry Birds Go! is a free download for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, and a free download for Android on Google Play.
Meanwhile, Hasbro has released some details about the Telepods that will be on sale for the new game. They’ll range from £5.99 for a pack with a single character and kart, through £9.99 for a two-character Multi-Pack, £14.99 for a Dual Launcher Set with slingshots to ping the karts around the room, £19.99 for a Deluxe Multi-Pack with five characters and karts, and £29.99 for the Pig Rock Raceway Set.
The what? It’s below: two characters and karts plus a Hot Wheels-style racing track to fire them along. Needless to say, this is the one our sons are going to be banging on about when making their Christmas lists…
