Back in January, Disney released a ‘Story Theater’ app based on its TV show Sofia the First, enabling fans to create their own stories with its characters.

Now there’s a follow-up. Sofia the First: The Floating Palace went live for iPhone and iPad yesterday with a similar format. It includes one readymade story about Sofia helping to save a mermaid’s kingdom, based on the TV special that Disney is airing this weekend in the US.

Once they’ve read and/or listened to that, children can get to work making their own tales in the app’s ‘Royal Theatre’ section, choosing a background and characters before recording a story about what happens to them.
