Both our sons love Adventure Time, which we’re slightly concerned about since the (excellent) Cartoon Network show is aimed at kids older than four or six. Oops! But we love it too.

If your children are just as enthusiastic about the adventures of Finn the human, Jake the dog and co, they may want to check out Ski Safari: Adventure Time. Released this week by Cartoon Network, it’s a brand new game for iPhone and iPad.

Here’s the main feature for the target audience, we sense: “Ski with your butt”. Yes, the game sees characters sliding down hillsides on their bums in order to escape an avalanche, encountering other characters and pulling stunts as they go.

The game is colourful, keeping the instantly-recognisable feel of the TV show. Note that in-app purchases are included: the game sells a “handful of gems” for £0.69 and a “Coin Doubler” power-up for £1.49.

Ski Safari: Adventure Time costs £0.69 for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store.

It’s not the only Adventure Time app available, though. Some of the characters also made appearances in Cartoon Network’s recent game Formula Cartoon All-Stars, which involved racing round tracks from a variety of the network’s shows.

There’s also a dedicated game that’s been out a while called Adventure Time: Super Jumping Finn, which is more about Jake kicking Finn into the air, then kids keeping him flying as long as they can. It’s also well worth a look for fans, whether young or old.
