We have to confess up front, this isn’t an entirely new app. It seems Moshi Monsters Magazine was released for iPhone and iPad in early December. We just hadn’t spotted it.
However, the app is now available in the US (and, we assume, in other countries too), so we wanted to write about it. After all, there are millions of Moshi-loving children who might be interested.
This is the “official digital Moshi Monsters Magazine”, offering a mixture of puzzles, stories, competitions and character biographies of Monsters and Moshlings from the popular children’s virtual world.
Yes, we know what you’re thinking: no freebies! The downside of digital magazines – although it may be an upside for some parents with cluttered homes – is that covermounts are by definition impossible. No plastic toys here then.
The digital mag is paid for using in-app purchases: £2.49 for individual issues, with £11.99 and £19.99 options for longer recurring subscriptions.
Moshi Monsters Magazine is a free download for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, and it’s part of a wider flurry of Moshi-related apps from its developer Mind Candy.
Moshi Monsters Music features the music videos of the world and its characters, while Moshi Monsters Village is a game about building a village for the Moshlings.
