Endless Wordplay brings monsters and rhymes to iOS

US children’s apps developer Originator has made several of our favourite educational apps in recent times, with Endless Alphabet, Endless Numbers and Endless Reader apps. Now they’ve been joined by a fourth: Endless Wordplay.

It looks marvellous, continuing the theme of those previous apps with its colourful troop of monsters, acting out words and sentences as children put them together.

“Endless Wordplay sets the stage for spelling, word building, and wonderful rhymes,” claims its App Store listing. “This app introduces key spelling and phonograms that are important for beginning spellers and early writers.”

The app is structured into “spelling lessons”, with three available for free in the initial download, each with nine words. As with the previous apps, there are in-app purchases to buy additional packs: “Wordplay Level 1” costs £4.99. Judging by Originators’ past releases, at some point there’ll be an edition for schools where you can buy everything for one upfront price, too.

Endless Wordplay is a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store.
