Princess Drawsalot and the Dragon scribbles on iPad

Our kids seem to naturally make up stories while drawing, telling us all about the characters that they’re scribbling, whether they’re animals, monsters or knights.

Several apps reflect that behaviour, like Sago Mini Doodlecast and Doodle Tales. The latest is called Princess Drawsalot and the Dragon, and it’s the work of Kidoodle Apps and Fingerprint.

The idea: your children take part in an adventure with “Oscar, Josephine and the Doodle Dragon”, with their drawings becoming part of the 17-page story, complete with colouring.

It’s aimed at a wide age range – 3 to 10 – and ties in to the Fingerprint parents’ network, which lets you see how your kids have been progressing, while recommending new apps that they may like.

Princess Drawsalot and the Dragon costs £1.49 for iPad on Apple’s App Store, although there’s also a free version where you unlock 14 of the pages with a single in-app purchase.
