There’s been a flurry of app activity (apptivity?) for The Beano in recent times, including the Dennis & Gnasher Prank Sticker app, and the launch of an official Minecraft mod for the cheeky twosome.

Their latest adventure is also an app: Dennis & Gnasher Adventures. Launched by publisher DC Thomson, it’s an “interactive story” that will be told over four parts.

Said story focuses on zombies in Beanotown, with games and use of the iPhone or iPad’s camera ensuring that your children get to take part in the story, as well as see themselves in the app itself.

“We also listened to the needs of parents when designing the app. We found that parents were looking for products that were not simply games, and that were trusted to be age-appropriate,” says Mark Cotton, who headed up the project at DC Thomson.

“Throughout the story, there are loads of hidden activities and challenges so kids can enjoy it time and time again.”

Dennis & Gnasher Adventures is a free download for iPhone and iPad from Apple’s App Store, and you get the first part of the story with it. The next three parts will be sold as in-app purchases, although since they’re marked as “coming soon” in the app, we can’t say yet how much they’ll cost.
