Earlier we reported on developer Rovio‘s addition of 35 new levels to Angry Birds Space. But without getting too angry and birdy in one day, we thought you’d like to see the video above: the official gameplay trailer for Angry Birds Star Wars II.

The game comes out next week, on 19 September, and will see the worlds of Angry Birds and Star Wars collide once more, with a host of characters, special moves and even the ability to (groan) “join the pork side” and play as the pigs.

As we explained before, this time round there are also physical toys called Telepods which you’ll be able to buy and then transfer those characters into the game (similar to Skylanders on consoles, if your children have played that).

Anyway, we’ll have a review for you on launch day, but for now, watch the footage above – and maybe even show it to your kids, if you’re sure they can bear the six days’ wait with good humour and patience…
